FEELINGS - Need to be Felt

Emotion wants motion. Every time you resist and defend against an emotion the pain will persist longer.



FEAR is such an emotion. We all have experienced this emotion umpteen times in various stages of our lives. Fear is not restricted to age, gender, or class. Fear of losing a loved one, fear of losing our reputation, fear of losing a deal, fear of not performing in our exams, fear of losing money in the markets, fear of heights, fear of the dark, and sometimes FEAR of the unknown causing anxiety. Today all of us are facing the fear of contagion -(#coronavirus #covid19) through the microscopic organism that has brought the entire world to a halt and the economy at an all-time low.

In saying " YES" and acknowledging it lies the antidote of your FEAR.

What you defend against you attract.

You can't avoid pain, but you can be aware of it and acknowledge it.

You can say YES to the pain, understanding that it is the part of life.

You will then not feel like a Victim and will be in a much better position to handle and deal with it more effectively.

Do you know that you can handle all your fears without having to control anything in the outside world? All you have to do to diminish your fear is to develop more trust in your ability to handle whatever comes your way!

What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters as compared to what lies within us.

We need to believe and keep assuring ourselves whenever we face FEAR through self-talk - " Whatever happens to me, given any situation, I will handle it."

We need to change the vocabulary we use -

Replace - " Life is a struggle " with " Life is an Adventure"

" It's a Problem" with " It's an Opportunity"

OR " It's Terrible" with " It's a Learning Experience"

We need to take small risks daily, one step at a time.

Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you are when you wake up. Day by Day and at the end of the day, if you live long enough like most people, you will get out of life what you deserve.

Be A Pollyanna - Pollyanna is a delightful story about a young girl who made a game of finding something to be glad about in anything negative that came into life.

What positive thinking does, is it offers a POWER BOOST to help you handle whatever life gives you? Your Bad breaks do not dominate your life, your indomitable strength does.

So, how do I maintain my Pollyanna daily?

  1. I make sure I read or listen to a self-help book daily on Spotify or youtube at least 15-20 minutes.

  2. I meditate daily and listen to a podcast or watch an inspirational clip on youtube daily.

  3. I say my Affirmations and also do a Visualisation exercise of 10 minutes daily.

  4. Put positive quotes on my desktop and mobile dashboard as well as in my home and work area.

As emotion wants motion, don't resist and defend against the emotion, as the pain will persist longer.

Be prepared to honor every feeling you experience, whether it is hate, fear, anger, jealousy, depression, or sadness.

BE honest about your feelings at least to yourself and try the simple tips share and you will surely see the difference.
